Robert's Story
Life
I grew up in Hollywood, on Fountain Ave. near Seward. I went to Blessed Sacrament and to a number of junior highs, because I couldn't manage to settle down then. I wound up leaving school before I could finish at any junior high. I worked for a few years at the Chinese Theatre and gradually became interested in returning to school. 8; I tried it and liked it very much. After a couple of years I got married to Darlene Collins (nee Dente), went to Berkeley, then UCLA, and finally Stanford. In 1973 we left California to live in Chicago, where I have been teaching for many years. I spend a lot of time in LA now, in Hollywood, and I welcome the opportunity to make contact with people I knew long ago.
